What this data is, and what it isn't
Every figure comes from a company's own BRSR
XBRL filing to NSE. Nothing is estimated, modelled or filled in.
Why these metrics, and not intensity per rupee
Every metric on the company view is a ratio of two figures inside the same filing,
or an absolute total. Ratios are dimensionless, so a company that files energy in
terajoules instead of gigajoules still gets the right renewable share — the error
cancels top and bottom.
Intensity per rupee of turnover is deliberately excluded. 12% of
companies file turnover in crore rather than rupees and a third don't tag it at all,
which would silently corrupt every ratio built on it. Those metrics come back if and
when audited revenue is added.
Excluded from every comparison
These filings cover non-standard periods and are not year-comparable. They are held
out of every median, percentile and trend on this page.
Known limits
- Restatements. 18% of figures change when a company files the following year. Values shown are as reported in the filing for that year.
- Boundary. Standalone and consolidated reporting are not distinguished. Two companies in a peer group may be drawing their boundary differently.
- Offset year-ends. 12 companies (Nestlé, ABB, Siemens and others) report on non-March year-ends. Their 12-month periods are mapped to the nearest slot and are comparable in length, but offset by up to a quarter.
- Sector labels are NSE's classification, marked unverified in the source workbook.
- Small groups. Peer groups under 10 companies are marked; a median over 3 companies is a description, not a benchmark.
- Not verified against annual reports. No extracted figure has yet been checked by eye against a company's published report.
